God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.

Music
Once my 5.1 Sony home theatre come to power, I can't resist myself from shaking a leg to the tunes of the latest blockbuster songs. Music lift's our spirit and it is by far one of the most widely accepted hobby for millions around the world.
Tired after work or a work-out in the Gym, music helps us cope with our desire to relax. Being a Friday, today is my weekend (In Dubai, Sunday is a working day & Friday is the holiday). To sit back with the day's newspaper or some magazine & listening to the music is something that I enjoy.
Recent Oscar award ceremony saw two Oscars being awarded to A.R. Rahman, the Music director who took the music to a different world. The reality shows like the Idea star Singer talent hunt by Asianet channel, Indian Idol in Hindi,etc is effort taken in the right direction to find future masters in singing field. I just liked watching Vivek of ISS 2008 performing one of the toughest composition by Music director Raveendran; Harimuraleevaram from the film Aaram thamburan. Awesome replication of the original song. Dr. K.J Yesudas is by far the universal singer. He and K.S Chitra has taken singing to great heights that very few can try to imitate.
Classical songs, Romantic melodies, western soft music are the ones that most enjoy. Generally the younger generation are most obsessed with the rock stuff with lots of beats. My personal likes are of meaningful malayalam songs with the right combination of lyrics & beats to give it a lasting impression.Great lyrics with the right composition & utilization of musical instruments like guitar, tabala, violin,etc makes music soothing to the ears.
With the advancement in technology, there will be further development in the field of Music. In the mean time let me try to crack a joke. If speech is silver & silence is Gold, then good music must be diamond!
