Climate Change

While humans are trying to grow plant in space, trying to engineer possibilities to make human livable in moon using polar ice, scientifically trying to find life in other galaxies around us, we ignore the ground realities of human legacies in polluting and creating imbalance in quality of living of all flora and fauna on Earth. It's our collective duty to handover a clean Earth to future generations!
Climate change is more real that we ever thought earlier. Human Beings being the most intelligent animals on Earth, we assume we are invincible. We forget the reality that the evolution process is a never ending process and we need to adapt to the challenging realities of climate change. Our star Sun, is destined to become brighter and in affect raise the temperature on Earth to high levels making human life impossible, but that natural process would take billions of years. However at the pace of inadvertent human efforts to create imbalance on Earth, it looks more likely we start facing natural incidences of Sea-water rising, tsunamis, landslides, famine in some places and flooding at other places. These are warning signs to mend our ways, or face nature's wrath! Earlier we used to live as part of nature as nomads, but with change in time, we learnt to abuse the nature, first during the industrial revolution, subsequently with massive urbanization, rampant de-forestation, mining, Sea-reclamation, increasing green house effect gases emissions, ground water depletion, why, we haven't even left the polar icy regions in the name of finding fossil fuels and disturbing the delicate habitat there. Nations are building their military capabilities instead of considering Earth as common home, and to practice peace instead of fighting in the name of divide and rule!
The paris agreement on climate change need to implemented and measures to be taken by all of us to plant more trees, help in reducing plastic use, focus on developing renewable sources of energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. We can keep on writing, but reality is that one step taken at a time is better than hundreds of wish list. I am signing off to do some actual planting on the moist mud before the raining resume at my hometown in Kerala! Enjoying my Vacation!

Enforcing peace

"Prologue" The pain of losing a near and dear one is not easy to bear. And if the body comes wrapped in the Indian Tri-color, it is all more signifying the ultimate sacrifice a soldier does for his country. For Media and general public at large, these are occasions to express some sorrow and then in a few days all is forgotten. What remains is the permanent loss to near and dear ones of the martyred solider and the Nation losing a hero. I too am grieving loss of school friend Captain Harshan.
"Enforcing Peace" My effort is not to delve into reasons of what leads to the un-rest in the Kashmir valley. Nature has made the place a "heave on Earth". As a country, it is imperative that the countrymen must support our Armed forces to ensure peace is enforced. It is a matter of grave concern when the lives of our security forces are being challenged by unscrupulous elements in society.
"Epilogue" I stand strongly with our security forces and encourage all countrymen to be united with common objective to motivate and encourage our Armed forces to do their duty of sanitizing the society and securing our national interests. Remember, we live in peace at the cost of their ultimate sacrifice. Jai Hind!
